DTD: Days to Dad: 1!

22 Dec

Yeah Daddy comes home tomorrow!

Started our day with hockey, of course! Carson is goalie this week! He’s VERY excited!

I forgot to mention that Santa was on the ice today handing out candy canes to Carson and the IP6er!

Connor had a practice with the Peewee A team and Carter has a practice after supper.

And to put us in the holiday mood, we are going to a neighbours for a Christmas party!

One more sleep until Daddy is home!

Practically counting down the hours but not quite yet!

Had several chats with Scott during the day. We had a lot of snow so it’s wintery white outside!

Not a lot of sports going on either. Connor had a practice with a Bantam team, but other than that we just hung out and played in the snow!

Cinnamon has discovered the stairs to our bedrooms and stuff toys! Wonderful!

Carson played 4 on 4, no goals but lots of passes and assists!

Carter’s team played the Stittsville Rams tonight. The Knights won 7-1! Ross got a hat-trick!

Had a good night playing with the dog but we ended up staying up way too late! Maybe all that snow will come and there won’t be any school tomorrow!

3 more sleeps!

20 Dec

Only one sporting activity on the agenda for the boys (Carson – swimming), but a busy day none the less.

I wrapped most of the presents and did the grocery shopping for Christmas Dinner. I bought a Secret Santa gift for one of Connor’s classmates and a present for my parents.

Only a few days left!

19 Dec

What a great start to my day! While I was leaving the house to bring the boys to school, I ran into a woman from the neighbourhood who is a supply teacher.

She told me how wonderful and polite Connor was to her when she was in his classroom. Connor’s class is in a portable and he got up to open the door for her. She said he was a wonderful young man!

I guess we are doing something right!

After a short walk with the dog (she doesn’t like walking in wet snow!), I started my day off by doing some hockey stuff, then I ran a few errands and hung out with the puppy. Connor called from school because he had a headache. He relaxed in the couch while I wrapped gifts.

Carter walked the dog home from school while myself and Carson worked on a snowman at school (he did the work, I just pointed out the good snow).

Here are some pics!

After supper, I took Carter to his game. They played the Jr Grads Blue who have the second highest number of penalty minutes at 126! Carter’s team only has 52! If you’d heard the parents you would understand where the kids get it from! The Knights won 2-1, they had a lot of chances but the Grads goalie had a good game.

Carter had a solid game and his effort paid off, he won the hardest worker puck!

I’m off tomorrow too, I have to get the rest of the groceries for Christmas dinner, then finish wrapping presents and hopefully get a few other things done!

Definitely counting down the days until Daddy comes home!

Nothing much going on today. A rare break from hockey. Connor and Carter are doing Minecraft stuff while myself and Carson are watching Home Alone 2!

Cinnamon is doing well with her house training and with her tricks. The biting isn’t bad so hopefully things are looking up!

Connor and Carter both played at noon today.

Carter’s game was in St. Isidore against the Tri-City Griffons. The Knights won 2-0!

Connor’s team played Ottawa Centre PB2. The Wolverines won 4-1!

Carson didn’t go to his game because he went to a birthday party.

It’s kind of freezing rain out but I took the puppy for a nice walk. She loves the snow!

Each of the boys had practices today. Connor got to play out which was fun for him. I had to get him new pants because his were so small!

While I was at Valiquette’s I found out that the chain that bought them won’t be selling goalie gear so they are selling it off at 40-50% off! So, I decided to buy Connor’s pads for next year (31″+1). Regular price: $599, on sale $300, that’s $200 less than I paid this year for smaller (28″+1) lower quality pads!

I also picked up a senior blocker and catcher for $242 taxes included! That’s less than the regular price of just the catcher! Crazy!

After lunch, Carson had a play date with his friend Hale. He’s a really nice kid. They made Christmas cookies (yummy) and did science experiments. His Mom was really nice as well.

While Carson was out and the other two were chilling, I took Cinnamon for a walk. We met a new puppy, 5 month old Nessy from up the street. She’s a pretty golden and chocolate lab mixed with Australian sheppard. Nessy and Cinnamon played for about 10-15 minutes and had a great time! It certainly helped tire Cinnamon out!

We had a quiet night at home. Another day closer to Daddy coming home!

Some photos of the house decorations and of Cinnamon.

15 Dec

Finally got the van back from getting the tires on, ran a few errands at lunch and then crashed for 3 hours! Good thing I set my alarm!

Carter had a Christmas Party in a box at the 67s game tonight with his hockey team and Connor had a game.

Connor’s team won 4-2! Connor had a great game but it was rough. One of the kids on the other team was ejected early in the 2nd period. Connor faced 28 shots, making 26 saves. At least half came in the 3rd period when his team slowed down, but they were able to maintain the lead. Andrew scored the first 2, followed by Max and Stuart!

Way to go Wolverines!

The boys were late for school this morning, I took this picture of Cinnamon while I made sure Carson got to the office.

14 Dec

I was really hoping this would not happen but it did. I’m getting a cold! My head hurts, and I’m coughing. Bring on the Buckleys, because it tastes awful but it works!

Of course, being sick doesn’t mean the madness stops!

Only one activity on the schedule for the boys, Carson’s 4 on 4. He scored at least one goal. He and Will were all over each other. If they had called penalties, they would have spent most of the game in the box!

Other excitement. Cinnamon had her first vet appointment with Dr. Anderson. She’s doing quite well and even though I am feeding her more than the dog food bag says, I’m not feeding her enough! She got a few vaccinations and a broad spectrum deworming (the breeder dewormed her 5 times, so I think we are good). She was incredibly well behaved and calm. I was so proud!

This is a picture of her in the wait room:

Other thrilling stuff I did yesterday, brought the van in to get new tires, but they were 2-3 hrs behind, so I had to leave it overnight. Thrilling!

Oh and it was garbage day. I hate putting out the garbage. I got Carson and Carter to collect the garbage from inside and Connor to help me put it all out. Once again, thrilling! 😉
