Finally a few hours break from hockey! Enough time to work on the tree house at the cottage.
Carson: “Poppy, you’re the bestest builder in our family!”
Carson had to have a vaccination this morning. He was nervous about it, kept holding my hand on the walk to the office.
While in the waiting room, we read about Franklin’s trip to the hospital (I’m a sap, almost made me cry!).
When we were called in, he was very brave. While the nurse got the needle ready, I explained what would happen (I’m a firm believer in knowing exactly what’s going on). He was great until she put the band-aid on, then he snuggled into me and started to cry (two big tears)!
After a big hug and a new sticker, he was okay but still milked it for a while!
My brave little guy!
Unfortunately, Carter has also been cut by the Sting. Oh well, on to the Golden Knights.
In our minds, we didn’t think Carter would make the Sting but we were hoping he would make it past the first cuts. He’s a good player, has a great view of the ice but he’s more of a passer than a scorer, a team player. Sometimes it’s hard to see that during try-out.
Either way, we are very proud of him!
Carter had another good try-out. He stayed up on his skates more and us enjoying the games.
He has another try-out at 10 this morning followed by the first set of releases.
Good luck Carter!
Unfortunately, Connor was released from The Sting last night. He was pretty bummed about it.
Not much else to say. He had a good try-out but in the end there were 14 kids trying out for 4 spots and many of those kids played competitive hockey last year .
The Golden Knights try-outs start in a week or so.
Connor had another solid try-out this afternoon. It was a 50 minute game and there were 7 goalies, so he only had a few double shifts.
Most of the goalie evaluations were based on the Friday skills and thus mornings long session.
First release letters are at 5:00 pm.
Carter is on the ice for his first session today.
He’s skating really well. He even scored a rebound goal!
Go Carter!
He cleared the puck twice that shift, with a really nice pass to Jax!
Carter is playing center this shift!
6:30 wake up, scrambled eggs and 1/2 bagel plus juice. 8 am game time.
30 mins of skating and shooting followed by an 80 minute game. This is group 1, half the kids. There are 7 goalies per session, 14 in total. The highest number of goalies they have seen. Only 4 spots, 2 AA, 2 AAA. Because Connor is in West End and they have the Golden Knights, he isn’t eligible for Sting B.
